Education:
Ph.D. University of Oxford, 20th Century Spanish-American Literature, Oral Narrative and Folklore
MA, University of Michigan, Spanish Literature
MA, Middlebury College, French Literature
BA, Ohio Wesleyan University, Spanish and French

Dr. Partyka teaches Spanish courses on the undergraduate and graduate level including advanced conversation and composition, stylistics and Latin American literature. She also directs the Spanish studies program in the Honors Tutorial College and teaches tutorials on various topics. Partyka is the author of numerous articles, chapters and book reviews. She is the co-coordinator of Spring Literary Festival sponsored each year by Ohio University’s Spanish Department to showcase Latin American literature and culture.

Partyka is a specialist in Paraguayan women's literature and is translating works by Renée Ferrer into English. She has finished a bilingual book of poetry and is working on her novel Nudos de Silencio (Knots of Silence).
