Director's Welcome
Greetings from the Ohio Valley International Council (OVIC). My name is Laura Schaeffer, the Director of Outreach (and OVIC) in the Center for International Studies at Ohio University. OVIC is here to foster global understanding by helping teachers in southeast Ohio globalize their classrooms and offering Ohio University international students and Return Peace Corps Volunteers a chance to experience this region. Trained Cultural Consultants visit classrooms to give customized presentations which compliment particular units of study. We also circulate learning kits which contain objects, literature and clothing from different parts of the world. Additionally, international curriculum and country profiles are compiled and easily accessible on this web-site. I look forward to collaborating with you!
